Scouts Like Tyshawn Taylor's Speed, Improved Shooting Ability

Feb 28, 2012 4:05 PM

Tyshawn Taylor is averaging 17.1 points while shooting a career-high 44 percent from beyond the arc.

Taylor’s improved shooting and playmaking abilities have led some scouts to believe he could be a difference maker at the NBA level.

"He's got speed," said one NBA scout. "He plays hard. He's improved his jump shot. He's starting to make better decisions with the basketball. I really think he can help a team off the bench."

Quincy Miller Shooting 43 Percent On Jumpshots, Struggling To Finish At Rim

Feb 24, 2012 4:24 PM

Quincy Miller is shooting 43 percent on jumpshots, including an impressive 41 percent from beyond the three point arc.

The 6-foot-9, 200 pound small forward has had difficulty finishing at the rim, however, as he connects on less than 50 percent of his total shot attempts inside the three-point line.

Miller has drawn comparison to Kevin Durant for his combination of length and skill and is projected as an early first round pick in this year’s draft.

Le'Bryan Nash Injures Arm, Status Unknown

Feb 23, 2012 4:59 PM

Le'Bryan Nash injured his left arm during a 3-for-15 shooting performance against Oklahoma on Wednesday night.

“We're a little worried about him,” said Oklahoma State coach Travis Ford. “We'll see how it is. He hurt his arm early in the second half. We were taking him in and out a little bit. But he couldn't hardly raise his arm. He's pretty swollen, so we'll see.”

Details about the extent of the injury were not immediately available.

Nash left the arena in a cast and is due to undergo X-rays.

Le'Bryan Nash Leaning Toward Return To Oklahoma State

Feb 21, 2012 2:53 PM

Le'Bryan Nash is strongly leaning toward returning for his sophomore season at Oklahoma State.

“I can tell you this,” Nash said, “it's 70 percent I'm coming back. I can tell you that. I feel I'm not having a big (enough) year to go to the NBA. I really feel like I could come back and really make an impact.”

Nash, a 6-foot-7, 230 pound small forward, is averaging 13.4 points on 40.3 percent shooting.

“I'm just going by this season right now,” Nash said. “I just keep playing right now. I'm not really looking at the NBA.”

Thomas Robinson Responds With Big Game After Talk With Bill Self

Feb 2, 2012 3:20 PM

Kansas coach Bill Self had a heart-to-heart talk with Thomas Robinson prior to Wednesday’s 84-62 rout of Oklahoma.

“Coach told me that I’m not playing like the player I’m capable of being,” Robinson said.

Robinson had scored 13 points with just seven boards in Saturday’s loss at Iowa State and looked a bit lethargic in three consecutive games.

“He’s been stressed all week complaining to me why I’m not being aggressive anymore,” Robinson said. “I just wanted to be aggressive from the jump tonight.”

Robinson responded with 20 points and 17 rebounds against Oklahoma.

“Thomas hadn’t been himself for the last three games,” Self said. “But he was tonight ... so positive and into it. In Ames and against (Texas) A&M and Texas ... he had so much going on with the anniversary (of his mom’s death). He was worried about missing shots. He didn’t get an offensive rebound against Iowa State. (If) the best rebounder in the country can’t get an offensive rebound, he is not being who he is. He did a better job going after the ball tonight, obviously. He got 17 rebounds.”
